We love volunteer groups! Pull together your friends, family, or coworkers, and have fun making a difference. Some group volunteer opportunities require sponsorship while others do not. We welcome all types of groups – corporate, faith, youth, and community groups.
South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity’s Team Building Program provides a unique experience that enables relationship building while supporting affordable housing solutions. Your team will be challenged to communicate and work together to produce a tangible outcome. By developing new skills and collaborating as a team, employees will return to the workplace motivated and inspired. Support from team builds allows us to continue to provide affordable housing opportunities for families with limited incomes and establish safe communities. SPS Habitat provides all the tools, materials, and training needed for your Team Build; no experience is needed. We tailor Team Builds to help meet your goals and preferences from our Team Building options. To arrange a Team Building event, please email or call Tanya Mote, Director of Development, at [email protected]  or by phone at 360-859-4842.

Sponsoring a Team Build Day on our construction sites

Your group invests in Habitat’s mission by sponsoring its Team Build Day through a tax-deductible financial donation.  Your contribution helps Habitat cover the costs incurred by your team of 10 volunteers and pushes our affordable housing projects closer to completion.

Team Build Sponsorships begin at $1,000 per day.  Service Builds (reserved for non-profits, schools, and service and faith groups) begin at $500 per day.

Why do we ask your team to donate?

On average, each Habitat house costs $180,000 to build. Individual and group contributions are our most important source of funding, and your donation helps us supply materials, training and supervision.  Funds can be raised by individuals, companies, or through matching funds and other grants, and we’re happy to give you ideas.

Team Volunteering at the Habitat Store

Teams can volunteer at one of our Habitat Stores without a financial donation (although donations are welcome).  All Habitat Store revenue goes towards future homebuilding projects—which means that volunteering at the Store directly helps us raise money to build more Habitat houses! Volunteers help process, organize and stock donations, and provide customer service to visitors.

Student Volunteers

Students must be at least 16 years old to volunteer on Habitat’s build sites.  Grade schools can contribute to Habitat’s mission by hosting events that raise awareness for affordable housing, or by raising funds for Habitat’s houses.  Each donated dollar purchases nails, wood, materials and tools, and no amount is too small.
