Make 2020 the year your home ownership dreams come true!
We invite you to apply to our open application phase for habitat home ownership coming this
February 10-14th, 2020.
During this application phase we will be selecting only one individual/family for a cottage unit (3 bedroom/ 2 bath) at our Deyoe Vista Habitat development in Lacey, WA.
- Live or work in Thurston County for a minimum of 1 year
- Make between 30-60% of the Area Median Income (please see 2019 AREA MEDIA INCOME CHART)
- Have a housing need (this can be overcrowding, cost burdensome, unsafe, unhealthy home)
- dependable monthly income that can be verified for the past 3 years, or verifiable income for the past 3 years
- No OPEN bankruptcy filings currently or in the last two years
All applicants will undergo a credit check. If there has been a bankruptcy in your past, it needs to be discharged for at least two years and you must demonstrate improved credit since then. If you have a court judgment resulting in a fine or settlement that is still unpaid, the judgment must be paid off in full.
You must have at least three years of stable income coming into your household. We can include non-work related income such as , disability payments, Social Security, etc. as stable income if you can guarantee you will receive that income for the next three years. The minimum required income before taxes for a family should be 2019 AREA MEDIA INCOME CHART
NEED FOR HOUSING
You will be considered for a Habitat home if your present housing is not adequate, and if you are unable to obtain adequate housing through other conventional means.
Lack of adequate housing may include problems with the present structure of your home; problems with your water, electrical or sewerage service systems; problems with your heating system; hazardous substances, or failure to meet city property maintenance standards. You may also meet the need for housing qualification if you are
living in an overcrowded or un-affordable situation. If you are living in transitional or subsidized housing, such as Section 8, you may qualify. Though your Section 8 voucher will not apply to your mortgage, we will make
sure your payments do not exceed 30% of your income, which is similar to how Section 8 vouchers work.
Applications will be available Monday, February 3, 2020 online Online and in person at our office and application submittals will be accepted Monday- Friday February 10th – 14th between the hours of 9am-3pm at our downtown office located in the Evergreen Plaza Building at 711 Capitol Way South, Suite 401 Olympia, WA 98501
